Meet Shelley!
Shelley, Owner and Creative Director of Shelley Ann Events, has a deep appreciation for meaningful details, refined design, and beautifully executed celebrations. Her approach is a thoughtful balance of creative vision and meticulous planning, bringing the big picture and all the little pieces together in a way that feels effortless.
She approaches each wedding with care, professionalism, and an intuitive understanding of how many moving parts come together to create an experience that feels seamless, personal, and completely you. She’s the person who will happily obsess over the floor plan, catch the detail everyone else missed, and make a complicated logistics conversation feel surprisingly easy.
Her couples often describe her as organized, reassuring, and genuinely invested, someone who brings calm to moments of uncertainty, clarity to complex decisions, and a steady hand when things inevitably get a little interesting. For Shelley, planning a wedding is about more than checking boxes. It’s about creating an experience you’ll actually enjoy along the way and a celebration that feels as good as it looks.
Philosophy
Shelley believes wedding planning should feel exciting, not like a second full-time job.
When couples feel supported, informed, and confident in the decisions they’re making, everything changes. The planning process becomes more enjoyable, the wedding day feels more effortless, and there’s room to actually be present for the moments that matter.
That’s where Shelley comes in. She brings structure to the moving pieces, creativity to the possibilities, and a calm perspective when decisions get complicated. She’ll keep an eye on the details, ask the questions you didn’t know to ask, and make sure the pieces come together beautifully behind the scenes.
Because the goal isn’t simply to plan a beautiful wedding. It’s to create an experience that feels thoughtful, personal, and completely yours, from the first idea to the last dance.
A few of my favorite things
Thank you for being here! A little glimpse into the things that make me, well, me. The people I love, places that inspire me, little indulgences I’ll never apologize for, and the everyday moments that keep life fun and creativity flowing.
I love watching my children grow into their own passions, whether it’s softball, basketball, dance, mountain biking, academics, or whatever they’re currently obsessed with. I treasure the loud, ordinary moments just as much as the big ones, movie nights, spontaneous dance-offs in the family room, and the kind of everyday memories that somehow become the ones you talk about for years.
I’m happiest outside, too. Give me a hiking trail, a beach day, crisp mountain air, or a new corner of California to explore and I’m in. I’ve learned I don’t really have to choose a favorite, there’s room for all of it. And I’ll almost always say yes to a last-minute getaway that turns into a favorite memory.
On wedding days, I’m fueled by energy, excitement, and the sheer joy of watching everything come together. And, if we’re being honest, a slice of cake and a Diet Coke, certainly help keep things moving.
Originally from Washington State, I eventually found my way to Central California, where I’ve called home since 2016. Along the way, I spent time in Las Vegas, earning my degree in Hospitality Management from UNLV, as well as in Park City and Portland. Each place has shaped how I see the world, but California has become the place that continually inspires me.
I’ve always loved people, places, and the art of bringing people together. Exploring California, discovering beautiful places, and witnessing the joy of a celebration all find their way into how I approach my work. After all, the best celebrations are about more than how they look, they’re about good food, great music, people you love, and a little bit (okay a lot!) of dancing.
And yes, I’ll probably be right there with you on the dance floor.
