3 myths about wedding planners

As a wedding planner our passion is you, your day, your dreams, your story. This is your story to tell, your vision and we are here to make it happen. Although there are many fairy godmother moments, when it comes down to the nitty gritty, we work effortlessly to put all of the beautiful details together. We cannot always wave a magic wand. We will, however, use our experience and knowledge to provide you a day that you will remember, get it done, and know that you were truly able to soak in each moment.

Let’s debunk these myths!

  1. Wedding Planners are only for high budget weddings.

We have all seen the movies of the couple with the lavish wedding, and pops in a wedding planner. Of course, they can afford a wedding planner, why wouldn’t they hire one with a wedding like that. Cue in soundtrack for The Wedding Planner movie circa 2001 with Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey.

Yes, there are absolutely wedding planners that service high budget weddings and I promise you that there are also wedding planners and day of coordinators that fit your budget. With experience and knowledge, a wedding planner can assist you with your total budget before you break the bank. With their many resources they can also get you off on the right path of planning from the beginning, making planning stress free and fun.

Your wedding is an investment, and we understand this whole heartedly.

  2. I don’t need to hire someone; I can do it for free.

This is the celebration of your lifetime, the party of the year, what you have dreamed about the moment you got engaged (or sooner)! It can also be the most expensive party you will ever through. With that in mind you may be going down the checklist and determining what your priorities are and what you can do without. Afterall, it is your day. I always encourage couples to ditch it if it isn’t for them. Don’t want to do a garter toss? Done, not part of the schedule.

Why hire someone when you can plan your wedding or have family and friends assist you on the day of your wedding?

With the thousands of details to manage, life happens, and it is okay to say and experience the joy of having someone to go to for advice and be there with you from the beginning. I enjoy telling the couples I have the opportunity to share their day with that I want them to feel the way I did on my wedding day. I hired a day of coordinator to be there not only for me and my husband, everyone. She made everyone feel welcome and at ease. Each guest, family and friends, could fully experience the wedding, live it up!

Someone that is on site the day of that is not on the guest list and has no other role is ideal. It is the role of a wedding planner or day of coordinator to make sure your wedding day is seamless. They are equipped with the knowledge and resources to make professional and quick decisions that can make all of the difference.

  3. A wedding planner will take over the planning of my wedding.

This is your day! A wedding planner will take your vision as a couple and tell the story you want to tell, one that reflects both of you. It is our passion to see your dream wedding day come to life, providing you with the best resources and recommendations.

As a wedding planner we are there throughout the planning process and get to know you and your vision. We will bring your vision to a design aesthetic that fits you and you love. We can bring the best vendors together to tell your story.

As a day of coordinator, we work together on a shorter timeline and bring all of your details together that you have planned. You have hired each vendor, you are a power couple, DIYers, and now it is time to make it happen. Wedding planning is not only about style and design it is also vendor communication, detailed day of schedules, management and knowing your go to person is there for you.

I believe each couple deserves to enjoy their wedding day to the fullest, stress free, memorable and endless frameable moments.

Don’t think twice, you can make this happen. I encourage you to take the opportunity to schedule a consultation call with a wedding planner to get to know them and the services that they provide that may fit your budget and needs. You won’t regret it.
