The Margaux: A Styled Shoot to Remember

There's something timeless about a classic black and white backdrop — and at The Margaux in Madera, their iconic black and white barn sets the stage for something truly special. For our recent styled shoot, we set out to bring a bold, fresh twist: layering in vibrant color, lush florals, and effortless elegance to show just how versatile and breathtaking this space can be.

The Vision

We wanted to play with the natural sophistication of The Margaux’s architecture — the clean lines, the striking contrast — while infusing it with romantic, garden-party energy. Think: a luxurious soirée where color meets class, and every detail feels both joyful and refined.

Our design centered around rich, saturated florals, elevated tablescapes, and fashion-forward wedding looks, creating a fresh take on barn weddings — where elegance and fun could live side by side.

The Design Details

  • Color Story: pinks, soft peaches, lavender, light blue and buttery yellows — a palette that popped beautifully against the black and white barn, while still feeling romantic and cohesive.

  • Florals: Lush, abundant arrangements featuring sweet peas, garden roses, ranunculus, larkspur, many more and playful pops of greenery. Floral installations transformed the stairs into a living piece of art, tablescapes, bar and lounge area.

  • Tablescape: Luxe linen, modern flatware, table lamps, and soft candlelight created an elevated yet inviting atmosphere for an unforgettable reception setting.

  • Fashion: Our bride wore a modern, structured gown paired with a long train with a playful bow and cathedral veil paired with a colorful bouquet that felt fresh yet timeless. The groom’s classic tux provided the perfect balance of sophistication.

  • Fun Extras: Linen signage that added softness and texture, prints, and a handmade backdrop for beautiful bridal portraits and a backdrop fit for the stunning cake.

Why We Love The Margaux

The Margaux isn’t just a barn — it’s a canvas. Its modern-meets-rustic style allows couples to make the space completely their own, whether their vision leans classic, colorful, or somewhere in between. With its wide-open views, thoughtful design, and natural charm, it’s the perfect setting to tell a love story that’s uniquely yours.

This styled shoot was a celebration of creativity, color, and connection — and a reminder that elegance doesn't have to be quiet. It can be joyful, bold, and breathtakingly beautiful, especially when paired with a stunning venue like The Margaux.

A heartfelt thank you to the talented team of vendors who helped bring this vision to life — your artistry and passion made every moment shine!
